OAH received significant support from the D.C. Department of Housing and Community Development, the D.C. Department of Mental Health, and a Supportive Housing Program grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development via the D.C.Community Partnership for the Prevention of Homelessness.

Private lenders provided critical support, through acquisition and construction loans from the Unitarian Universalist

housing fund (now Open Door Housing Fund), Cornerstone Inc., Local Initiatives Support Corporation, and Enterprise Community Partners.

We received significant support from private foundations.

Ongoing support comes from the D.C. Housing Authority’s Local Rent Supplement Program.

How You Can Get Invovled

  • Visit our beautiful building
  • Volunteer to mentor or tutor a resident
    Plan and run an activity for residents
  • Walk, organize a youth group walk, or become a sponsor for Open Arms in the Fannie the Help the Homeless Walkathon
